If you love the Kinetic Grand Championship and have a knack for merchandise, you’re our kind of person! Kinetic Universe is looking for candidates to fill the position of Merch Coordinator. This is a temporary, contract position that would last three months, with the possibility of expanding after three months. This person is responsible for working with graphic artists and vendors to create merchandise for the Kinetic Grand Championship, May 28-30, and running the merch tent during event weekend. Ideally, this person could also create “evergreen” merch, conceive new merchandise items and work toward establishing an online store and placement of Kinetic Universe merch in local stores and events. This is an experimental position, and we are looking for the right person to develop a robust presence, through branding and merch sales, in our community.
The merch coordinator will work independently, but will have support from the board of directors as needed.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a marketing background and be able to use data to gain an understanding of what types of products and designs our community will buy
Experience in project management, and good time management is essential
Experience in graphic design or in working with graphic designers is a plus
Connection with the local community and knowledge of community events is important
Proficient in Squarespace
Duties:
Work with graphic artists to create KU/KGC branded merch, listing that merch in our online store,
Broker relationships with local businesses to feature our merch in their stores and gift shops
Ship online orders
Represent KU at community events, such as Farmer’s Markets, Arts Alive, etc.
Coordinate merch for KU events (Rutabaga Ball, Kinetic Grand Championship, Kinetic Classic)
