Kinetic Museum Eureka is kicking off 2017 in their Greasy Gears Gallery with an art show featuring the eclectic landscapes of Rutabaga Queen Lotta Paintbuckets. Opening Arts Alive Saturday January 7th, 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., and continuing weekends until Sunday the 28th. Located at 518 A Street in Eureka, the Kinetic Museum's regular hours are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 2:13 p.m. to 6:32 p.m..
The Kinetic Museum also houses five decades of Kinetic Sculpture race history, and an exclusive selection of Kinetic merchandise.
The Queen Lotta Paintbuckets's works combine her love of the natural backdrops of Humboldt with interestingly repurposed materials, and a unique sense of humor. The Humboldt Bay, Arcata bottoms, and other recognizable locations are whimsically represented using everything from plastic wrap and aluminium foil to fabric samples, glitter, and packing materials.
The Museum stays open late after Arts Alive, bumping with the grooves of DJ Commander Chainstain, while kinetic fans enjoy the Queens' Bar, featuring brews by Mad River Brewery.
