Join Kinetic Museum Eureka in their Greasy Gears Gallery with exhibition featuring artwork by Laura Keenados, Bad Cat Pomegranate. Opening Arts Alive Saturday February 4th, 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., and continuing weekends until Sunday the 26th. Located at 518 A Street in Eureka, the Kinetic Museum's regular hours are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 2:13 p.m. to 6:32 p.m..
Laura Keenados, aka Bad Cat Pomegranate, or Rutabaga Princess Royal Blue Laroo’s recent works combine escapism and emotional reactions to society’s heavily weighted events. Currently focusing on pen and ink, she creates a world where everything sucks a little less, where we are free to play and be the cats we want to be. In addition to wall art, Bad Cat Pomegranate bandannas and linens will be available for sale.
Keenados is well known for her cat art, as well as creative repurposing. During the summer, she facilitates arts and crafts at North Star Quest Camp in Petrolia. She vends artwork locally and in LA. After attending Cat Art Show Los Angeles, she went on to create a Humboldt County version with fellow CASLA artist Rachel Schlueter, called HumCats. Laura also volunteers with the Kinetic Grand Championship as an art judge, and was the winner of the first Kinetic Kouture, being the first to be crowned “Trashionista Gloriosa”.
The Kinetic Museum also houses five decades of Kinetic Sculpture race history, and an exclusive selection of Kinetic merchandise.
The Museum stays open late after Arts Alive, bumping with the grooves of DJ Commander Chainstain, while kinetic fans enjoy the Queens' Bar.
You can find out more about Laura and her work on her Facebook Page.
