The event will be on Saturday, May 27th, Day One of the Kinetic Grand Championship. On this electrifying evening, the Rutabaga Royal Family will gather at Synapsis in Eureka to crown a new Queen in a spectacle like no other! From jaw-dropping talents to outrageous performances, this beloved annual tradition celebrates creativity and community. In celebration of Queen Glitterinia’s 10th Queeniversary, we’re turning up the sparkle and glam to unprecedented levels. We are also celebrating the 20th Queeniversary of The Queen of Entertainment, Monica Topping. Prepare to dazzle and delight as we tribute these luminous queens who have reigned supreme over the Kinetic Realm.

In 1973, "friend of Hobart" and general oddball Barbara Ludwig decided that the Kinetic Race needed a reigning monarch and declared herself "Rutabaga Queen." Since that legendary day, dozens of raucous royals have made it their duty to follow the cardinal rule of Rutabaga-ing: Have FUN! … almost to the point of obnoxiousness. The Rutabaga Ball was invented by a Queen and organized by the Rutabaga Queens, a group of independent performing artists and volunteers. This Kinetic tradition pre-dates Kinetic Universe, the nonprofit organization that produces the Kinetic Grand Championship, by many decades. Kinetic Universe is grateful to the Rutabaga Queens for supporting the Kinetic Grand Championship with this fundraiser, and will continue this partnership for as long as it pleases the Queens.
